'Final' Concept Velvet Gown

Description

Well while i was brainstorming about how i would like my new sleeves to look (and fit) I realized that the old trim on my dress is severely fraying. So..i decided to change a few things on the final look of my dress.

Of course i had to draw it out so i could see if the ideas in my brain worked well when actually applied. The red part of the dress will be much darker than it shows in the picture (deep dark red).

Please give me suggestions, i would rather change things now while it's still on paper so i wont' have a "final final final" re-design of this dress. Here it is as it stands.. [link]

Also, I'm at a loss for headwear. I don't want to just wear the caul (way too much squinting..) top hat, flat cap, help me decide! ^.^

Hey -- I don't know if you've already decided on something, but if not, what about a French hood? They're a little dated of course, but they're not that hard to make (I used [link] as a general guide, although I decided to do a lot differently), and as I just realized this past summer, they're very easy to wear if you pin a braid on top of your head and put the cord BEHIND your neck. (Duh).

Your design is beautiful. I wish I had chosen to make my last gown out of black instead of blue.
